Tai Shan, Meerkats, Reptiles and Random Aquatics

For the second year in a row, the baby panda (Tai Shan) at the National Zoo has made an appearance for me. Yes just for me! Can you believe it? Well he's hardly a baby anymore at age two, but he is still quite adorable.

And the meerkats -they had babies this year - playful, so tiny, and just starting to forage for a little food.

Can you find the chameleon? He is very hard to see. We were also at hand when the reptile keeper hand fed the veiled chameleon (crickets -you wanted to know!).
Click on the picture, it gets bigger.

AMAZONIA!

Couldn't see the chameleon. Did you forget where it was between taking the photo and publishing it - I probably would!

The baby meerkats are adorable. I can't see enough of them.

val- I took almost a whole roll of film on those darling babies. The chameleon is about dead center of the picture. If you click on it, it gets bigger.

I think it only fitting that since you traveled cross-country, that the panda comes out for you. :)

The ONLY way I can see that darn chameleon With my glasses on is when I click on the pic to enlarge. Then he pops right out.
Candace -thank you!
Rose -you know they always let Tai Shan know when I'm coming ;)

There is plenty of cool stuff to see at the National Zoo, but right before I left, WP and I visited the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary. I will post some of those pics. They do a fantastic job of caring for the 'rejects' (my favs). You know, the bears and cougars some asshole thought would make a great pet. The golden eagle with one eye shot out. You get the picture. People are just stupid idiots, except of course for my wonderful blogging buddies who love animals.

My kids LOVED these, and I wanted to be sure to congratulate WP here for shaving down some of her times. Wow! That's awesome. :)

I found 'e, the chameleon that is. I also used him as my desktop wallpaper too! Several of these are desktop wallpaper worthy. :>

Thank you for coming to visit me! It's nice to meet you!

Take Care,
-P

P.s. I've got pics of coyote, a bathing bear and a wolf currently posted.

I found that lizard straight away. But if I were a predator, I doubt that I could. Is his name Waldo by any chance?
